  i was on a flight working the beverage cart when i spied with my little eyes two women reading wt material.

  i served them and said they looked like jehovah's witnesses.

  they smiled and asked if i was a witness and i said nooooooooo.

  Well done, its always fun to stick it to them, especially when they ask!

  Nothing wrong with polking fun at their stupidity. I remember one time a witness (a very selfrightious arrogant one) my wife and I knew said hello to my wife while ignoring me because he knew I had left the JWs. I said: "WHAT AM I INVISIBLE?" he was embarased and my wife gave me a dirtly look. I was laughing at the guy while at the same time thinking if says anything I'll let him have it. I was thinking what kind of arrogant bastard would think it was ok to come to someones house and ignore them. I was ready to tell him if he couldn't show common courtesy get his f'ing arrogant ass off of my property. Fortunately he just left without sayig anything. My wife was pretty upset with me over the incident.

  Nook E-Reader And Jehovah's Witnesses

  hey everyone,.

  i got a nook e-reader last xmas from my hubby due to my love of reading and lack of space for books.

  anyway, have been reading mostly james patterson books on it when i got bored today and decided to do a search on it............typed in jehovah's witnesses and got these titles available to be downloaded totally free.. thats right, free!.

  Thank you Lovelylil. I'll check it out. I have a Nook and I love it. I have a question for you about the Nook. Do you know how to post on the JWN from it? I can read my emails and send emails from it but I haven't figured out how to post anything on the JWN from it. When hit "submit" it goes through but the problem is it won't allow me to type anything and God knows there are hundreds maybe even thousands of people waitiing for my next comment.

  the reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.

  my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.

  i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

  Frankly I'm no longer a JW and I'm still embarassed to tell people that I used to be!

  Well MrFreeze to me it is kind of like telling people that at 25 I still believed in Santa Claus. I don't like owing up to it either plus all the crap that goes along my wife still believing all that JW nonsense. I don't really like to talk about it unless I'm really close to a person.

  In my first post I said I was upfront about my beliefs as a JW but now that I have had time to think about it that was in the beginning when I first got involve with the Watchtower. Now that I have had time to think about it I have to admit that as time went on I became progressively more embarrassed about the things I thought I believed in.

  I think in many cases JW children have to confront issues on a daily bases that their JW parents are able to skirt around for years without ever embarrassing themselves. Such as the national anthem. I know at sporting events JWs head for the restroom so they will be standing while it is being played so they don't have to follow the Watchtowers silly rule of not getting up for it when it is being played. Kids don't alway have they loop holes that their parents become masters at using.

  The reason I asked this is because I'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a JW. My mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife. I asked her if she was going attend the funeral service. I pretty much knew she wouldn't because it was being held in a church. She made some kind of excuse about she thought she had a doctors appointment which I knew she didn't but I think she even tried to make one so she would have an excuse for why she didn't attend. When I was a JW I think I was pretty straight forward about what I believe but I've noticed more than once Jdubs doing things like this. I don't know if this is a new thing or they if some of them have always played this game.

  I have learned that the best debators are not necessarily right and the poorest debators are not necessarily wrong.

  Good point OnTheWayOut. This may be off the subject but I think it is also why we get such lousy people in political office at times. The ones that might be the best for us aren't necessarily the ones that are the best at getting their point across.

  You are right Juan Viejo2 Kevin Smith talking about Prince is hilarious. I wonder how long he will stick with the Witnesses and how long they will put up with him. He's rich and famous so they will tread lightly.
